EXPLORE OUR COURSE PORTFOLIO
Learn how to write your own Jira Cloud plugins.
There are two platforms for Jira Cloud app development, and both have their place and reason for existence.
Atlassian Forge is the most recent addition to Atlassian's app platform family, and it is by far the easiest way to learn. If you don't know where to start, then start with Forge.
Forge has limitations, and this is where Connect comes in. Connect has been around for many, many years and there is a large community of Marketplace vendors who have build Atlassian apps on Connect.
Have a look at our blog where we cover the differences in more detail.

If you need to integrate with external services or store your own data outside Jira, then you will need Connect.
LEARN TO WRITE FORGE APPS
Atlassian Forge is by far the easiest way to get started. Learn how to write your own Forge apps with our Udemy course today.
Forge is suitable for both small extensions developed by Jira administrators as well as full-featured add-ons to be published on the Atlassian Marketplace.
However, the biggest advantage of Forge is that there is no need to set up any infrastructure to run the add-on. Atlassian do it all for you.
